How to Save Time When Watching an Online Video
When you watch an information video, for example, a lecture in one of my courses on my website or on Youtube, you can easily save 50% of your time.
Before you start the video, go to the gear icon on the lower right-hand side of the video player: this is where you find the “Settings”. Click it.
You will be given four options:
Option #2 is playback speed. Set it from “Normal” to “2x”. That will double the playback speed.
For most videos, this will not reduce your ability to understand what the speaker is saying. Also, his voice will not sound like Alvin the chipmunk’s voice.
Test this.
Here is a public talk that I have given at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, on 09 October 2019.
You can watch it in only 30 minutes.
