Changing a patent figure or adding new wording is not recommended. Patent law does not allow adding new subject matter after filing. Replacing a figure or inserting additional text is risky, even if the examiner accepts it, because it can later be used as a potential ground to revoke the patent.

Such changes are only justified if they are already fully and unambiguously supported by the description as originally fled. But in that case, no amendment is needed, because a judge interpreting the patent will understand what was meant from the original text.

In short: amendments to figures or wording after filing are never required and only create unnecessary legal risk.
