Monetization/ Commercialization of IP
Quote from Impostor_syndrome on January 18, 2019, 5:33 amWe hear often that IP is an intangible asset and how it is valuable to a company. However, there is often very little guidance on how to use these intangible assets to generate an income or profit for the company.
Without a plan for monetization/commercialization, the expenses spent to obtain IP in the first place is wasted, because there is no return on investment.
I have found a blog here: https://www.greyb.com/patent-monetization-strategies/ which talks about monetizing patents.
Do share your strategies for obtaining and monetizing/commercialising IP.

Quote from Martin Schweiger on January 24, 2019, 4:08 pmI have in 26 years of business practice never seen anyone becoming rich just from generating IP, nor have I heard from someone who became rich just from generating IP.
What I have seen were people who were successful entrepreneurs who also had IP. And I have met successful employees who generated IP.
Telling inventors that generating IP will make them rich should be classified as a punishable offense.
