| What Is The Robot Patent Drafting (RPD) Workshop?

Background

In September 2022, we organized the 1st World Robot Patent Drafting Symposium. The  Symposium was organized around Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats.

We took this time to perfect a White Book the Robot Patent Drafting Symposium and included a lot of information about Robot Patent Drafting manufacturers as well as other useful information. The book contains all the issues that have been brought up during the Symposium, and it will serve you well. If fact, you can start with robotic patent drafting immediately after you have received it, it is fully enabling. This book will be sent to you when you book a seat for the workshop.

Robot Patent Drafting (RPD) Workshop 2023

RPD Workshop is our second event in the series that will give you hands-on experience to use a Patent Drafting Robot. It will be held on May 13th, 2023, which is the Saturday before INTA in Singapore.

This event will be conducted onsite in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and will also be available for online attendees.

The ultimate goal of this workshop is to guide you to draft your own patent application using one of the patent drafting robots that is available there for you. We will take you by the hand and we will personally guide you through the drafting process, showing you how to use a patent drafting robot starting from an invention disclosure that is prior art. This way you will get hands-on experience in drafting a patent application using a robot, and you can also observe other participants while they draft their own patent applications with a robot.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who should attend the workshop?

People who are interested in not missing the train when it comes to automated patent drafting. The workshop is intended for patent attorneys, patent agents, and other professionals involved in the patenting process who are interested in learning to use robots for patent drafting. So if you have a serious interest in learning to work with automated patent drafting tools, this workshop is a must-attend.

2. How many days is the conference, and what about the INTA conference afterward?

It is a 1 day event, and the venue is tentatively fixed in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. We intentionally chose this location so early visitors for the INTA can get some flavor of Malaysia as well. You have sufficient time after this workshop to look around Malaysia before INTA Annual Meeting starts on May 16, 2023. We do not have an overlap between these two events because many participants of the Robot Patent Drafting workshop will also participate in the INTA Annual Meeting 2023.

3. What is the difference between Observer and Training seat?

Training Seat: You get hands-on training to draft a patent application in a 1-1 interactive session.

Observer Seat: You can only watch while others draft their patent applications.

4. What topics will be covered in the workshop?

The workshop will focus only on one thing. Hands-on training to use a robot to draft a patent application.

5. Do I need to have programming skills to attend the workshop?

No, programming skills are not necessary to attend the workshop. However, a basic understanding of patent law and the patenting process would be helpful.

6. Will I be able to use a patent drafting robot on my own after the workshop?

Yes, the workshop will provide hands-on training on how to use the patent drafting robot, and participants will have the opportunity to practice using the tools during the workshop. However, additional training and practice may be necessary to become proficient in using the tools on your own.

| A Letter From Me

Good day, this is Martin Schweiger, a patent attorney in Singapore, and I would like to welcome you to the landing page of the Robot Patent Drafting Workshop.

This workshop is a follow-on from the First World Robot Patent Drafting Symposium, which was held in Cannes, France in September 2022.

At the Symposium, I was very pleased to see the high level of interest in the topic of automated patent drafting. According to my knowledge, we are the first in the world to explore this area and give it due visibility.

For several years now, I have been working on the topic of “Automated Patent Drafting”. This year it has become even more realistic to use this technology to increase the speed and quality of drafting patent applications. The price for using software to automatically prepare a patent application has fallen to a few hundred Euros per case, and even significantly less for large volumes.

If you attended the Symposium in 2022, then you should definitely join this workshop. It is the only natural follow-on in your development as a patent professional. My White Book for the First World Robot Patent Drafting Symposium will bring you up to speed with respect to automated drafting of patent applications and make you be prepared to get hands-on experience to use the robots for yourself.
