BY MARTIN SCHWEIGER
The Robot Patent Drafting Symposium is organized around Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats. Click on the hats for more details.
The Black Hat is about difficulties, dangers, risks, worries, and such. Critical judgement and logical reasoning is used for identifying the bottlenecks, shortcomings and problems in robot patent drafting
The White Hat is all about facts and the information that is available at present. We identify missing pieces of information and discuss how to get them.
The Red Hat is about intuitions, emotions, and even about hunches that are not backed by facts. An open discussion without any reasoning. It can even become religious and political.
The Blue Hat is there for making sure that only the right thoughts for the ongoing discussions are talked about. The Blue Hat is worn by the moderators of each session. He organizes the thoughts and make action plans on them, if necessary by shifting them to another session.
The Yellow Hat is about the positive impacts that robot patent drafting will have on the industry and on the users of the patent system, substantiated by facts and logical reasoning.
The Green Hat is all about new ideas and creative thinking to make robot patent drafting better. And also for addressing and for coming up with solutions to Black Hat problems from other sessions.
“Black Hat/Red Hat Discussion”:
There will be 4 speakers who represent Black Hat matters and Red Hat matters. And there will be one moderator who wears the Blue Hat. The moderator makes sure that the main issues are collected and presented to the Green Hat discussion that follows on the same day.
“White Hat Discussion”:
There will be 4 speakers who present White Hat matters. And there will be one moderator who wears the Blue Hat. The moderator makes sure that only factual statements are made and that no religious or political matters are discussed.
“Green Hat/Yellow Hat Discussion”:
There will be 4 speakers who present Green Hat/Yellow Hat Discussion matters. And there will be one moderator who wears the Blue Hat. The moderator makes sure that only positive aspects, visions and ideas are brought up, and only factual Black Hat problems are addressed. There is no room for religious or political matters here.

1. Who should attend the conference?
People who are interested in not missing the train when it comes to automated patent drafting. The convention is really a steal: you get 100%-money back vouchers for most of the patent drafting robots that are on the market. Plus you have direct contact with high-ranking insiders and founders of the currently known patent drafting robots. So if you have a serious interest in learning to work with automated patent drafting tools, this conference is a must-attend.
2. How many days is the conference, and what about the FICPI conference afterward?
It is a 2 days event, and the venue is the same as FICPI venue. We do not have an overlap because many participants of the Robot Patent Drafting Symposium will also participate in FICPI.
3. Do we Speakers need to pay?
All panelists get a free ticket, of course
4. Can I use the convention as a marketing event?
Yes, there are online booths for the sponsors, manned by their sales teams. If you are a manufacturer of a patent drafting software, you can also hand out a voucher for using your software. I am not recommending to hand out discount vouchers, but instead a 100%-money.back voucher. That will make sure that you are only talking with real buyers and not with people that out for freebies.
5. Is this a serious event for exhibitors?
Yes, I will make the conference known to about 200k people in the area of IP. We have only 30 paying on-site seats in Cannes, plus the speakers. So the majority will have to attend online, for space reasons. Only paying attendees will benefit from all advantages of the event. My guess is that we have about 200 paying attendees (which is also a sign that they have a serious interest in that solution).
6. What are the advantages for attendees of the convention?
All attendees will have a unique selection of conversation partners that come with hands-on experience in the legal tech area, and especially in the automated patent drafting area.
7. I am interested in the symposium, would you mind giving me a little information about it and what we intend to discuss?
Before accepting, I need to perform some diligence with a few attorneys because there were some discussions about heading to Europe for some meetings in the fall.

The World Robot Patent Drafting Symposium is the most focused and exclusive event in the IP industry.
You will be meeting a group of delegates that are united in one strong quest – minimizing human input in drafting patent applications while maximizing the value that humans can contribute to drafting these patent applications.
You will be amidst a group of Early Adopters that are eager to cut down their learning curve and to reduce the time that it takes to adopt this new technology in their own patent practice.
Automated Patent Drafting - We will only discuss this. Nothing else. No trademarks. No designs. No copyright. No litigation. Only Robot Patent Drafting.
We hold a meeting for a group of privileged people with one common interest: disrupting the patents industry with automated drafting of patent applications.
This will be a very different hybrid experience. Whether you attend virtually over video or in person, on-site, you have the same experience as an attendee. We have tweaked a video conferencing system to make that possible.
We have a one-of-a-kind event structured around Dr. Edward de Bono's "Six Thinking Hats". We have separate talks and discussions for facts, worries, fears, and visions. So you will not get confused.
We will not record the talks and nothing that has been spoken will see the light of the day. We will compile a Symposium White Paper, but that's it.
We don't just produce hot steam. Your conference tickets include vouchers for using actual online patent drafting robots that are used in the field. So you can try out yourself what you have seen.
